Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using tools like Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices.
- Monitor and record vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature accurately within electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring proper documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical terminology standards.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or memory care needs, utilizing techniques such as aseptic procedures and infection control protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in acute care environments such as ICU, emergency departments, Level I Trauma Centers, or post-acute settings like long-term care facilities and assisted living communities.
- Assist with medical procedures including catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and basic life support (BLS) when required.
- Maintain patient safety by observing changes in condition, reporting concerns promptly, and adhering to infection control practices.
Skills
- Proven experience working in diverse healthcare environments including hospitals (ICU, PICU), nursing homes, hospice care, outpatient clinics, or home & community care settings.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks or similar platforms for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support patient care activities effectively.
- Experience caring for individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs; expertise in dementia or Alzheimer’s care is highly valued.
- Ability to perform catheter care, vital signs monitoring, medication assistance, and basic life support confidently.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with healthcare teams and provide compassionate patient service.
- Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA compliance and medical terminology to ensure confidentiality and accuracy in medical records.

Pay: $16.50 - $20.00 per hour
