Job Title: Workday Benefits Configuration Analyst

Summary/Objective
The Workday Benefit Configuration Analyst is responsible for configuring, building, testing, and supporting benefit solutions within Workday, with a primary focus on Workday Benefits and HCM Core. The Analyst will translate business and benefits requirements into accurate system configurations and will work closely with internal teams, clients, implementation partners, and technology resources to ensure benefit products, plans, eligibility rules, business processes, and related configurations are accurately designed and delivered. The Analyst will also troubleshoot configuration issues, manage multiple priorities, and serve as a subject-matter expert for Workday Benefits configuration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Workday Configuration
- Configure and maintain Workday Benefits and HCM Core functionality.
- Build and configure benefit plans, programs, eligibility rules, coverage levels, rates, deductions, and related benefit components.
- Configure and maintain business processes and functional requirements within Workday.
- Translate business and benefits requirements into effective Workday configurations.
- Perform system builds and configuration updates based on client and business requirements.
- Maintain configuration documentation and system specifications.
- Identify opportunities to improve configuration processes, efficiency, and system functionality.
Benefits Administration
- Apply strong knowledge of employee benefits and benefits administration to Workday configurations.
- Configure medical, dental, vision, life, disability, voluntary benefits, FSA/HSA, and other benefit offerings.
- Understand benefit eligibility, enrollment rules, effective dates, life events, qualifying events, and coverage requirements.
- Partner with benefits and implementation teams to ensure benefit configurations accurately reflect plan designs.
- Review configurations for accuracy and compliance with established business requirements.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Develop and execute functional test scenarios for Workday Benefits and HCM Core configurations.
- Conduct unit, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve configuration defects.
- Analyze test results and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Partner with technical teams when issues involve integrations, data, or downstream systems.
- Maintain a high level of data and configuration accuracy.
Integrations & Troubleshooting
- Collaborate with technical and integration teams to troubleshoot Workday-related issues.
- Assist with identifying data and configuration issues impacting benefit integrations.
- Review inbound and outbound data to help identify discrepancies.
- Work with internal teams and partners to resolve issues efficiently.
- Support troubleshooting related to benefit carrier feeds, integrations, and data exchanges when applicable.
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with Client Services, Deployment, Benefits, Technology, EDI, and other internal teams.
- Participate in implementation and deployment activities.
- Provide functional expertise and guidance to team members.
- Communicate complex configuration concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support ongoing system enhancements and client implementations.
- Participate in requirements gathering and solution design discussions.
- Serve as a trusted subject-matter expert for Workday Benefits configuration.
Compliance
- Maintain accurate configuration and supporting documentation in accordance with established requirements and processes.
- Adhere to applicable system, SOC II documentation, testing, and case management processes.

Required Qualifications
General Knowledge, Experience, Technical, and Problem-Solving Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on Workday experience, with significant experience in Benefits configuration.
- Workday HCM Core Certification required.
- Workday Benefits Certification required.
- Demonstrated experience configuring Workday Benefits in Benefits technology platforms.
- Strong understanding of benefits administration and benefit plan design.
- Experience configuring benefit plans, eligibility, coverage, rates, deductions, and related business processes.
- Experience with Workday testing and troubleshooting.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into system configurations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to configuration accuracy.
Communication Proficiency:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical personnel.
- Ability to communicate complex configuration concepts clearly and effectively.
- Strong listening, collaboration, and stakeholder-management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Workday Benefit Bridge is highly preferred.
Work Environment
- The work is typically performed in a normal office environment on site at Benefit Harbor or in a remote home office. Some travel and extended hours may be required.
Suggested Schedule
- This is a full-time exempt position. General hours of operation are Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 am to 5 pm with some flexibility to support clients throughout the continental US. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required during peak periods.
