Are you passionate about flowers, creativity, and making people smile? All A'Bloom Flowers & Gifts is looking for an enthusiastic, reliable, and detail-oriented Part-Time Flower Shop Assistant to join our team!
This is an entry level position and in this role you will be the backbone of our daily operations—helping keep our shop beautiful, our flowers fresh, and our customers happy. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves working with their hands, possesses excellent customer service skills, and wants to learn the ins and outs of the floral industry.
This isn't just a job where you sit behind a counter—you’ll be right in the thick of the creative chaos. You'll help us keep the shop looking gorgeous, make our customers feel like VIPs, and hang out with beautiful blooms all day. It's hard work, lots of cleaning and organizing and thinking on your feet. We LOVE to visit with our customers and help them choose the perfect gift so an outgoing personality is a must!
What You’ll Actually Be Doing:
- Spreading the Flower Love: Greet our awesome customers, help them pick out the perfect stems, and run the register with a smile.
- The "Behind-the-Scenes" Magic: Process fresh flower shipments! This means unboxing, cutting stems, stripping leaves, and lifting heavy buckets of water.
- Keeping Things Pretty: Sweeping up rogue petals, dusting shelves, staging plant displays, and keeping the cooler clean and looking pristine.
- Florist Wing-Person: Assist our designers by prepping vases, wrapping bouquets, and maybe even designing some of our daily grab-and-go bunches once you learn the ropes!
What We’re Looking For:
- A People Person: You’re outgoing, friendly, and have excellent people skills and phone manners. Retail or customer service experience is awesome, but a great attitude is everything.
- Hustle & Heart: You don't mind getting your hands dirty (literally, there will be dirt) and can stay on your feet for hours at a time. You can also lift 55+ lbs without breaking a sweat.
- Reliability: You show up on time and ready to work.
- Holiday Heroes: You must be available to work weekends and the chaotic-but-fun rush of major floral holidays (Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, etc.).
