Position Overview: ROCS is seeking a passionate and experienced K–8 Resource Teacher to provide individualized and small-group support to students across grade levels. The Resource Teacher will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to address students’ academic, social-emotional, and behavioral needs. This role is critical in ensuring that all students have equitable access to the curriculum and the tools they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver targeted instruction in academic support, remediation, enrichment, and intervention for students identified with diverse learning needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate instruction, adapt lessons, and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans.
- Monitor student progress through assessment, documentation, and data analysis, and communicate updates to teachers, administrators, and families.
- Support students in developing executive functioning, study skills, and organizational strategies.
- Work alongside the Student Support Team and Administration to implement school-wide strategies for social-emotional learning and positive behavior support.
- Participate in curriculum planning, staff meetings, professional development, and parent conferences as needed.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that aligns with ROCS’s mission and values.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Valid North Carolina teaching license, with special education or resource endorsement preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, ideally in K–8 classrooms and/or resource settings.
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction, RTI/MTSS frameworks, and strategies for students with diverse learning needs.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and colleagues.
