Join our Perioperative Services team and play an essential role in supporting patients throughout their surgical journey. This position works with both pre-operative and post-anesthesia care (PACU) patients, helping prepare individuals for surgery and assisting with their recovery afterward. The department includes 10 pre-op beds and 18 PACU beds, with a typical patient-to-PCT ratio of 8:1. As a Patient Care Technician , you will work closely with a collaborative and highly supportive team of nurses, anesthesia providers, physicians, and fellow PCTs to deliver exceptional patient care.
This position is a full-time, 40 hour a week, Day shift position working Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a varied day off with no weekend requirement. Schedules are created six weeks in advance, providing consistency and work-life balance while offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patients during an important stage of their care.

Responsibilities:
JOB SUMMARY
Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
- Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
- Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma or GED Required
EXPERIENCE
- Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
- 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
- Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
