What to Expect
The AI Deployments team builds systems that enable rapid model iteration and dynamic deployment of AI onto end-user hardware platforms across Vehicle, Robotaxi, Optimus, and Digital Optimus.
Our infrastructure is the fastest way to evaluate Tesla's AI in the real world. Our mission is to make it the standard — even faster, more robust, and seamless.
Beyond speed, our systems are core to 24/7 Optimus model evaluation, reinforcement learning flows, driving vehicles autonomously off factory lines, and seamless deployment and model weights installation on Tesla products around the world.
The team lives at the intersection of cloud services, build systems, on-device tasks, OTA infrastructure, AI model runtime, networking, and security.
Your work will directly accelerate FSD and Optimus programs and set the new standard for how models ship to millions of Tesla vehicles and robots worldwide.
What You'll Do-
Design and build high-impact systems — cloud, delivery, device — that together tighten the feedback loop between model training and real-world evaluation on target hardware

Optimize performance, cost, and robustness across deployment environments worldwide — factories, outdoor sites, and training clusters

Collaborate with Firmware and Security teams to develop faster, more granular builds, enabling targeted updates, dynamic regional configurations, and rapid iteration without full reflash cycles

Instrument the metrics pipeline, dashboards, and alerts for complete visibility from device to cloud

Build systems that manage fleets of humanoid robots in production environments

Versatile builder with strong product instincts — able to navigate across many subsystems — cloud, build, device, inference runtime, networking (with depth in at least one)

Ability to break down broad problems, solve them efficiently in the fast dev loop, then leverage that win across the production fleet and around the world

Hands-on experience building production systems in Python, Go, and/or C++

Solid foundation in concurrent programming, Linux systems, networking

Bonus if familiar with connectivity hardware, modern build systems (Bazel, SCons), data center and/or distributed infrastructure

Expected Compensation
$140,000 - $390,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
