JOB TITLE: Material Handler – Shipping & Receiving
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Material handling functions of shipping and receiving under the direction of the materials supervisor.
- Sets pace for all truck drivers and material handlers, coordinates with Logistics Analyst all jobs that need to be shipped as well as which carriers will handle them, organizes department, and makes sure housekeeping is kept up.
- Follows the direction of the Logistics Analyst for priority decisions and needs.
- Receiving of all raw materials.
- Warehousing of all raw materials.
- Responsible for maintaining integrity of warehouse and inventory.
- Responsible for keeping miscellaneous hardware and any other material and its surrounding areas in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Proper reporting of transfers, receipts, and shipments daily.
- Unloading of all trucks: plant transfers, material deliveries, etc.
- Shipments of finished goods: including weights, wrapping, loading trucks, and processing paperwork.
- Following the guidelines as set forth in the “Receiving Function.doc”.
- Assist in pulling boxes, metal, and wood for jobs.
- Project work as required.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift experience - required.
- 2 years of warehousing/stockroom experience helpful but not necessary.
- Ability to drive a standard transmission box truck but not necessary.
- Must be well organized and a multitasker.
- Work schedule flexibility.
- Must be customer driven.
- Computer and software programs (Excel, Word, Access, and Power Point), helpful but not necessary.
EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
