Event Manager — Alternative-Lifestyle Events | Los Angeles
Rosy Peaches Events is looking for a reliable, organized, and hands-on Event Manager to help run our private alternative-lifestyle events in Los Angeles.
We produce community-focused social events, educational classes, and themed parties throughout the year. Our events are fun and unconventional—but this is first and foremost an event operations position.
What we're looking for
We need someone who genuinely enjoys running the event rather than attending it.
The right person is punctual, calm under pressure, comfortable taking charge, and good at keeping staff and volunteers on task. You should be the kind of person who notices that check-in is backing up, a volunteer hasn't shown up, furniture needs to be moved, or a room isn't ready—and handles it.
This is also a hands-on position. While you'll be responsible for directing staff and keeping an eye on the bigger picture, we expect our Event Manager to jump in when something needs doing. That might mean moving tables, carrying supplies, helping reset a room, or hauling boxes during setup and breakdown.
Reliability is extremely important. Our events operate on tight timelines, and arriving late or canceling at the last minute can affect the entire production.
Responsibilities may include:
- Managing event setup and breakdown
- Coordinating and directing staff and volunteers
- Keeping the event running according to schedule
- Overseeing guest check-in and front-of-house operations
- Communicating with venue staff and event leadership
- Troubleshooting issues as they arise
- Making sure assigned staff remain at their posts and complete their responsibilities
- Moving furniture, equipment, supplies, and event materials as needed
- Helping maintain a professional and welcoming environment for guests
- Providing on-the-ground leadership so event organizers can focus on programming and the community
You may be a great fit if you:
- Have experience in events, hospitality, nightlife, theater, festivals, weddings, production, or venue operations
- Are consistently early and dependable
- Are comfortable giving direction and holding people accountable
- Are proactive and don't need constant supervision to see what needs to be done
- Aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and work alongside your team
- Can stay focused in a lively, highly social environment
- Understand the distinction between working an event and attending an event
- Can handle sensitive situations discreetly and professionally
- Are able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and assist with physically active setup and breakdown
Our Community
Important: Rosy Peaches serves an alternative-lifestyle community with a significant number of queer and transgender members. You do not need personal experience in these communities, but you must be comfortable working professionally, respectfully, and nonjudgmentally with the people we serve.
This is a working role. Event Managers are expected to remain on duty and focused on event operations throughout their scheduled shift.
Schedule & Compensation
Location: Los Angeles, CA
Schedule: Primarily evenings and weekends.
Position: Part-time / event-based
Compensation: $350–$550 per event, based on experience and level of responsibility
New Event Managers will initially work alongside event leadership while learning our operations, staff, venue, and community. Our goal is to develop someone who can ultimately take ownership of on-site event operations with confidence and independence.
To apply, please send a brief introduction and resume or summary of relevant experience. We'd especially like to hear about events you've managed, the size of the teams you've supervised, and an example of a time something went wrong during an event and how you handled it.
Pay: $350.00 - $550.00 per month
Work Location: In person
