We are seeking experienced Class A CDL drivers based out of our Kernersville, NC terminal. This over-the-road (OTR) position services the East Coast, Southwest, and Midwest regions within our General Commodity Division. Home every weekend.
This role offers approximately 90% touch-free freight, with drivers typically running two trips per week. Most routes require 1–2 nights out per trip, with the option for extended runs based on driver preference. Drivers can expect to be home on weekends, providing a consistent and predictable schedule.
Responsibilities
- Safely drive and deliver freight to designated locations in a timely manner.
- Ensure proper handling of materials.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes taken, and cargo transported.
- Follow all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays.
- Manage route driving efficiently to optimize delivery schedules.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable Class A CDL driving experience within the past 36 months
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and acceptable Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP) report
- Current DOT medical card and long form, with the ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Strong knowledge of vehicle safety standards, DOT regulations, and basic equipment maintenance practices
- Ability to safely lift and maneuver freight using a hand truck or other appropriate equipment
- Proven time management skills with the ability to consistently meet delivery schedules
