Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated Home Health Aide (HHA) to join our caregiving team. In this role, you will provide essential in-home support to elderly, disabled, or recovering patients, helping them maintain their independence and dignity within the comfort of their own residences. You will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to execute personalized care plans that focus on both physical assistance and emotional well-being. We are hiring in multiple locations Medina, Chardon, Geauga. Lake and surrounding counties
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with daily activities (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene.
- Health Monitoring: Measure and record vital signs such as pulse, temperature, and blood pressure, reporting any significant changes to the supervising nurse.
- Medication Support: Provide medication reminders or assist with self-administered medications according to the prescribed care plan.
- Mobility & Transfers: Help patients move safely, including transfers from beds to wheelchairs and assisting with prescribed range-of-motion exercises.
- Nutritional Support: Plan and prepare nutritious meals based on specific dietary restrictions and assist with feeding when necessary.
- Homemaking Tasks: Perform light housekeeping duties such as laundry, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining a clean, safe environment.
- Transportation & Errands: Accompany or transport patients to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or other essential community outings.
- Companionship: Offer emotional and psychological support through meaningful conversation and social engagement to reduce isolation.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Certification: Valid state-mandated Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification. No certificate we will train.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills, with a patient and empathetic demeanor.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to lift, move, or position patients (often requiring the ability to lift up to 50 lbs).
- Reliability: Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and be able to pass a comprehensive criminal background check.
- Emergency Preparedness: Current CPR and First Aid certifications are typically required or preferred.
