Here’s a unique opportunity to join a leading manufacturer/distributor. We are currently seeking a Warehouse Manager for our growing Port Saint Lucie, Florida office.
POSITION: Assistant Warehouse Manager
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
LOCATION: Port Saint Lucie, Florida
HOURS: Varied, typically Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating the storage and distribution operations of products and materials. The manager oversees the layout, cleanliness, and maintenance of the warehouse facility and the material handling equipment used in the facility. Day to day duties will include:
- Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results
- Scheduling resources to ensure they are available when needed on the path to project completion.
- Coordinate with the warehouse supervisor(s) to assign needed crew based on workload and work to minimize overtime expense as well as meet accepted productivity standards.
- Establish standard operating procedures for receiving, handling, storing, and shipping of products and materials.
- Implement warehouse safety programs and activities and ensure the warehouse staff on site are following all required safety guidelines.
- Process order transactions for EDI declarations and labeling as well as assure the completeness and accuracy of documentation produced by the warehouse crew.
- Ensuring work environment is kept neat and clean – daily cleanup as required.
- Working with shipping carriers to ensure timely delivery of shipments and resolve any shipping issues.
- Perform physical inventory counts and make sure that all products are properly stocked and stored.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a positive attitude, motivated work ethic, and a friendly approach to a team effort.
- Safely perform all warehouse activities as directed.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, changing environment.
- Experience in FedEx and UPS shipping and software programs.
- Must be able to use Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Able to lift 50+lb.
- Detail and multi-task oriented.
- Experience with hand-held barcode scanners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual is a plus.
