Operations Team Member
Position Summary
The Operations Team Member is responsible for the daily coordination of food donations, inventory management, meal production support, volunteer activities, and food distribution operations. This position ensures food and resources move efficiently from donors to community partners while maintaining accurate records, compliance, and food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Food Donation Management
- Receive incoming food donations.
- Ensure all donated food is weighed and categorized.
- Issue donation receipts to donors.
- Complete intake documentation.
- Coordinate food storage and organization.
Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- Track all incoming and outgoing food.
- Monitor product rotation and expiration dates.
- Conduct regular inventory checks.
- Work with management to identify shortages or surplus inventory.
Distribution Operations
- Prepare food orders for nonprofit partners.
- Ensure all outgoing food is weighed and documented.
- Maintain distribution records.
- Support meal program logistics (Pickups and/or deliveries)
Data & Reporting
- Enter all donation and distribution information into required forms and tracking systems.
- Prepare packing slips for food distributions.
- Verify outgoing food matches packing slips.
- Maintain accurate inventory records.
- File and organize operational documentation / forms
- Ensure all required records are complete and accurate before submitting to the Operations Manager.
Facility & Warehouse Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas.
- Ensure food safety procedures are followed.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance needs.
- Support loading, unloading, and warehouse activities.
Partner Support
- Assist nonprofit partners with food pickups.
- Maintain positive relationships with community organizations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required.
- Experience in warehouse, logistics, food service, nonprofit operations, or inventory management preferred.
- Fork Lift License Required
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
