Role Purpose:
The Parts Manager who is detail oriented comfortable to maintain a high-volume parts inventory, price comparison, and coordinate a central part purchasing program. Will be responsible for the security of inventory and for analyzing the quality of parts.
Knowledge and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree is preferred Requirements
- 3+ Years of proven parts management experience Transit preferred
- Exceptional customer service and follow-up
- Valid Driver’s License
- Automotive, medium/heavy duty truck and sanitation truck parts experience a plus
- Prior management and/or supervisory experience preferred
- Prior parts experience with heavy equipment preferred
- Ability to read, comprehend and follow technical manuals
- This position requires flexibility in working hours and job assignments
- Exceptional computer skills Excel, Word

Key Accountabilities:
- Develop, communicate, enforce, and monitor effective parts management processes and procedures
- Maintain inventory at optimal levels while ensuring uninterrupted support to shop operations
- Plan, prepare, and conduct quarterly physical inventory counts, including monthly cycle counts
- Generate and distribute standard and ad hoc reports, including system-based reporting
- Maintain an accurate and efficient parts cataloging system
- Build and sustain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers
- Review and verify purchase orders for accuracy and completeness
- Prepare and code invoices accurately for Accounts Payable processing
- Analyze and evaluate inventory records for accuracy, trends, and discrepancies
- Maintain organized records and compile reports to support operational and departmental needs
- Provide technical assistance to parts department employees
- Conduct meetings with parts department employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest and to develop strategies for more efficient operation
- Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence, Monthly cycling counting
- Other duties as assigned by management

In addition to the above demands inherent in every role, the following roles may entail unique physical demands, including:
- Operators/Drivers may work inside or outside vehicles and may operate vehicles for over 8 hours per day.
- Operations Supervisors and Managers may split their work between an office setting looking at a computer screen/electronic device and active transit field locations driving in a vehicle.
- Maintenance Employees may be exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals in a ventilated maintenance shop and may work with personal computers, laptops, electronic hand-held devices, complex electrical schematics, diagnostic software and testing devices, and other heavy machinery.
- Office Staff may work indoors in air-conditioned or well-ventilated facilities, including offices and cubicle spaces equipped with a telephone and computer and may entail typing or looking at a computer screen.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $102,000.00 per year
