Summary
We are seeking a Middle School Math Teacher to join our team at Albany Area Middle School.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
- Teach a range of mathematical topics, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and data analysis.
- Assess and evaluate student progress through regular assignments, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
- Create a supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and a love for learning.
- Utilize technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance instruction and engage students.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance, behavior, and academic progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other required documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification or licensure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment for all students.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and software to enhance teaching and learning.
