Position Summary
Newton Country Day School seeks passionate and encouraging Middle School Field Hockey Assistant Coach to lead and assist the team during the fall 2026 season. The coach will focus on teaching fundamentals, building confidence, and inspiring joy in the sport within a supportive, mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in coaching middle school practices and games, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship, while aligning with the overall volleyball program.
- Mentor student-athletes of varying skill levels, fostering courage, confidence, discipline, and personal growth.
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the Athletics Department.
- Willingness and ability to drive school vehicles for practices and competitions.
- Uphold and model the values of Sacred Heart education and the mission of Falcon Athletics, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes.
- Complete other related duties as requested by the Director of Athletics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Playing or coaching experience in field hockey.
- A passion for developing young women through sport.
- Enthusiasm for working with middle school students and developing foundational skills.
- CPR/First Aid and SafeSport certifications (or willingness to complete prior to the season).
- CORI background check and fingerprinting required.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $1,500.00 - $2,500.00 per year
