SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Technician is a skilled facilities maintenance professional responsible for performing preventive maintenance, corrective repairs, and general building maintenance to ensure facilities remain fully operational and meet client expectations. This position will be involved in a variety of maintenance activities including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building repairs. The Maintenance Technician will work as part of a facilities maintenance team and may be assigned to support one additional facility as needed. A shared company vehicle will be available for travel between sites. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
DUTIES:

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on commercial building systems and equipment.

Respond to service calls and work orders in a timely manner.

Assist with troubleshooting and repairing HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical systems.

Perform routine inspections of building equipment and report deficiencies.

Replace filters, belts, lamps, ceiling tiles, and other common building components.

Perform minor plumbing repairs including faucets, toilets, flush valves, drains, and related fixtures.

Perform minor electrical repairs including lighting, receptacles, switches, ballasts, and breakers.

Perform painting, drywall repairs, carpentry, and other general building maintenance tasks.

Assist with preventive maintenance programs and equipment inspections.

Escort contractors, vendors, inspectors, and service providers as needed.

Assist with event setup and breakdown activities.

Assist with moving furniture, equipment, supplies, materials, and debris as required.

Perform hauling and disposal of trash, construction debris, and surplus materials.

Travel to an additional facility as assigned using a shared company vehicle.

Work closely with other maintenance technicians, engineers, and management to complete assigned tasks.

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized manner.

Demonstrates initiative in assignments and maintains positive customer relations.

Responds to emergency calls as needed.

Follows all safety practices and adheres to all safety-related policies.

Maintains accurate and timely paperwork.

Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Must be available on weekends if needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Minimum 5 years of commercial building maintenance experience.

At least 2 years of experience in a commercial office building, healthcare facility, educational facility, industrial facility, or similar environment.

Basic HVAC troubleshooting skills.

Basic plumbing troubleshooting and repair skills.
-
Basic electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
-
Experience performing preventive maintenance and general building repairs.

Basic carpentry, drywall, painting, and ceiling repair skills.

Ability to use common hand tools and power tools safely.
-
Basic computer skills/email usage.
-
CMMS experience preferred.

Ability to read and follow work orders and maintenance procedures.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability and willingness to travel to an additional facility using a shared company vehicle when required.

Ability to lift and move equipment, tools, furniture, and materials.

Ability to work from ladders and lifts as required.

Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
