WCS Healthcare is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses to provide essential medical care within a medium‑security male correctional facility in Rome, NY. This role requires strong clinical skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in a secure environment. RNs will manage daily sick call, medication administration, emergency response, and clinical documentation for incarcerated individuals.
- Shift & Hours: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 06:00)
Conduct sick call and triage medical complaints
Administer medications, including insulin
Perform wound care and manage peripheral lines
Respond to emergencies (Narcan administration, asthma rescue, physical force injuries, etc.)
Manage tool control and maintain safety protocols
Provide care for employee injuries and accidents
Complete screening, reporting, and documentation requirements
Coordinate emergency room transfers when necessary
Maintain accurate health records and documentation
Participate in interdisciplinary treatment discussions
Support infection control and isolation precautions
Job Requirements:
- Completion of state-approved LPN program
- Current LPN license for the state that you are working in (or willingness to obtain)
- 2 years of LPN experience is required
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
