Sr Controls Engineer
Job Summary: Provide control solutions for Autotec Machine Systems developed to solve customers’ challenges/problems. Analytical/Critical thinking plus disciplined in applying robust design methodologies and sound engineering principles to develop and realize solutions.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design, configure and simulate controls systems for complex automation designs
- Develop customer requirements and support project experience delivery
- Responsible for preparing engineering to include: System design
PLC programming
HMI programming
Control panel design and detail
Hardware selection
Bill of materials creation
- Responsible for system I/O check, debug and startup at Autotec.
- Responsible for leading and participating in problem solving activities.
- Interact with other departments, suppliers and customers to obtain pertinent information.
- Works closely with senior mechanical setup technician to ensure that the machine functionality is complete and approved at Autotec before shipping.
- Coordinates, documents, and files all history associated with a specific job.
- Reviews project quote and scope and calls attention to ideas and concepts.
- Perform sales and engineering visits when required.
- Reviews engineering to make certain Autotec and customer machine expectations are met.
- Assistance on the shop floor at Autotec as well as in the field service will be required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years of applicable experience
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organize and facilitate team meetings.
- Working understanding of Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, and Allen Bradley Panel View software.
- Understanding of product development.
- Strong computer skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and must be able to interface directly with other engineers.
- Experience using Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Allen Bradley ControlLogix, and Allen Bradley Panel View software.
- Familiarity with other commercial and industrial control systems.
- Willing and able to travel to customer locations, some international travel. up to 50% travel.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
