Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicles using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced diagnostic equipment to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on powertrain components such as transmissions, engines (including diesel), and related systems to restore vehicle functionality.
- Execute mechanical repairs including brake systems, alignments, suspension, welding, and general maintenance tasks with precision.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools efficiently for disassembly, repair, and reassembly of vehicle parts.
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins to troubleshoot complex automotive problems effectively.
- Repair or replace ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) components to ensure vehicle safety features operate correctly.
- Provide exceptional customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Requirements
- Proven dealership experience as a service technician or mechanic with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Extensive knowledge of automotive electrical systems, schematics, and electronic troubleshooting methods.
- Hands-on experience working with GM vehicles or similar makes is preferred.
- Skilled in diagnosing issues related to powertrain components such as transmissions and diesel engines.
- Proficiency with automotive service equipment including alignment machines, welding tools, and diagnostic scanners.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to work efficiently using hand tools and power tools.
- Valid certifications in automotive repair; ASE certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Ability to interpret schematics accurately and follow detailed repair procedures.
- Experience with auto estimating software is a plus but not required. Pay: $75,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
