Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to oversee the financial operations of our clinical and surgical and practice. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, including the day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow management, revenue cycle oversight and regulatory compliance. As a leader and head of the financial department, the ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, regulatory frameworks, and financial analysis to support our team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full spectrum of accounting functions including general ledger accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Conduct thorough account analysis and account reconciliation.
- Lead budgeting efforts, forecasting activities, and cash management strategies to optimize financial resources.
- Ensure accurate regulatory reporting related to governmental agencies where applicable.
- Monitor key financial metrics and identify opportunities for cost savings and operational improvement.
- Supervise, mentor, and support accounting and administrative staff as appropriate.
- Oversee medical billing department and 3rd party billers
- Develop and improve financial processes, reporting systems, and operational workflows.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to ownership and executive leadership.
Requirements
- Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks; experience with financial management tools is essential.
- Strong knowledge of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and account analysis.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting, finance, or controller-level experience.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls.
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Preferred
- Experience within a medical practice, ambulatory surgery center, or healthcare organization.
- Familiarity with practice management, billing, and EHR systems.
- CPA designation preferred but not required.
Pay: $85,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
