Role Description
Mathis Design Studio Design Consultants work directly with guests to understand their needs, style preferences and budgets, then translate those insights into cohesive design solutions. They partner with our staff of Interior Designers who provide additional services.
The role involves greeting guests, preparing quotes and sales orders to ensure accurate delivery, installation, and follow up. Design Consultants maintain current knowledge of product lines, design trends, and Mathis Design Studio services to provide an exceptional and personalized experience.
Qualifications
- Strong Customer Service skills with a focus on building rapport, active listening, and delivering a positive experience.
- Proven Sales abilities, including consultative selling, closing skills, and comfort working with sales goals or performance metrics.
- Ability to recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on customer needs.
- Familiarity with Furniture and Home Furnishings, including materials, quality indicators, and how to mix styles and brands effectively is preferred, but not required.
- Have excellent communication skills though confidence and a personal, professional and stylish presentation.
- Must have basic computer skills which are used daily for transactions and administrative tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- We provide paid initial training and a 90-day introductory period to develop sales skills and product knowledge.
Ultimately, this is a commissioned position which rewards our creative hard workers. Bonuses, contests and additional incentives are awarded weekly/monthly. Please note we work weekends, most holidays and shifts will vary.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
