Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dietary Supervisor to oversee the nutritional services within a healthcare or assisted living environment. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical nutrition, food service management, and health regulation policies. As a Dietary Supervisor, you will lead food service teams, ensure compliance with health and safety standards, and develop care plans that meet residents' or patients' nutritional needs. Minimum Requirements
- Certification as a Dietary manager
- Certification as a Food Service Manager
- Minimum Highschool diploma
- Two years of experience in the food service industry preferred
Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage food service teams, ensuring efficient daily operations and high-quality meal preparation.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans that incorporate clinical nutrition principles and patient assessments.
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring adherence to food safety management standards and health code compliance.
- Coordinate with healthcare professionals to conduct diagnostic evaluations and adjust dietary interventions accordingly.
- Manage departmental budgets, including food costs, staffing, and resource allocation, to maintain financial sustainability.
- Ensure all dietary services comply with relevant health regulation policies and documentation standards such as EMR/EHR systems.
- Train staff on best practices in food safety management, tube feeding procedures, and nutrition guidelines for acute care settings.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies efficiently, and oversee food service health code adherence to ensure a safe environment for residents or patients.
Skills
- Extensive experience in assisted living or healthcare dietary departments with supervising responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, clinical nutrition, dietetics, and care plan development.
- Proven ability to manage food service teams effectively while fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Expertise in managing budgets, food production processes, and food safety management systems.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems for documentation of care plans and patient assessments.
- Experience with tube feeding protocols, diagnostic evaluation procedures, and acute care nutritional support.
- Excellent leadership skills combined with the ability to train staff on health regulation policies and food service health code compliance.
- Competence in managing food service operations within regulatory frameworks while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
