Highly skilled electrical installation and maintenance work for the Military Department at The Vermont Air National Guard's involving the design, installation and maintenance of routine and complex electrical work, and oversight of contracted work. Work is performed under the direction of a District Facility Supervisor or District Facilities Manager.
Examples of Work:
- Performs routine and complex electrical installation and repair work on all electrical systems and fire alarm systems in their assigned buildings.
- Supervises all electrical work performed within their assigned area. This includes electrical work performed by a contractor, as well as approved Military staff.
- Obtains the necessary permits and works with the Division of Fire Safety Inspectors to ensure code compliant installations.
- Reviews electrical equipment specifications and provides recommendations to Military Project Managers.
- Orders and maintains electrical supply stock.
- May perform other construction and maintenance duties upon request.
Position requires possession of a valid driver's license.

As of July 12, 2026, the step 1 rate for pay grade 23 will be $28.05 per hour and the step 15 rate will be $43.80 per hour.

Duties are performed at Military Facilities throughout the State. Must be able to climb ladders, lift weights up to 75 pounds, and work in cramped, wet, or poorly ventilated areas. Electrical repairs may entail exposure to live electrical parts, for which protective clothing must be worn. This position may require emergency response to calls outside of regular work hours. Some potential for physical injury may be present. Position requires possession of a valid driver's license.
