Job Summary:
Command Performance Catering is seeking highly organized and detail-oriented Event Managers to oversee the planning and execution of various events. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences to strive for a successful event. This role requires a proactive approach to event management, with client interaction, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and meet client expectations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events, including weddings, banquets, corporate dinners, and private social gatherings
- Lead a team to strive for success and professionalism
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements for each event
- Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and venue staff to secure necessary services and materials
- Oversee event logistics, including setup, breakdown, and on-site management during events
- Organize meetings and share important, detailed information regarding the event with the rest of the staff and keep them up to date on any changes throughout
- Provide outstanding guest services by addressing inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise
- Maintain detailed records of rental orders production records, menus, event plans and diagrams, contracts, and communications
- Utilize time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain good rapport with coworkers and clients
Job Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in event planning or management within the hospitality industry is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with clients, vendors, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating independent initiative
- A valid California Food Handler certificate
- Former catering/banquet experience strongly preferred
- Must have former leadership and training-type roles
- Must have reliable transportation and the willingness to commute to job sites that are located in Ventura County and Los Angeles County areas
- Ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds unassisted
- Must be comfortable with being on your feet for long periods of time and capable of carrying/moving catering equipment and items
- Must be flexible to work in the different elements as many events take place outdoors
- Must be available to work long shifts on weekends and in the evenings
- Maintain a positive attitude in a stress induced setting
- Ability to problem-solve quickly when under pressure and adapt to changes that may occur at any point
- Ability to take initiative in identifying actionable tasks outside of normal duties
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in the event setup process
- Must be reliable, well-organized, and ready to jump in to help when needed at any given moment
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $27.00 - $37.00 per hour
