Experience the fulfillment of helping middle school students with mild to moderate needs reach their full potential in a full-time, weekday role.
Your schedule will run from 7:15 am to 3:15 pm, Monday through Friday, for 37.5 hours per week. You'll have the chance to work either in a middle school environment or in one of several self-contained classrooms, with a manageable caseload of 12 students. This position is dedicated to ensuring that each student receives the individualized attention required for personal and academic growth.
Qualifications & Experience Desired:
- Valid Special Education Teaching Certification
- Experience serving students with mild to moderate disabilities, preferably within a self-contained or middle school setting
- Strong understanding of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring
- Ability to foster a nurturing, inclusive, and structured learning environment
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with students, families, and educational staff
- Passion for facilitating student growth socially, emotionally, and academically
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver differentiated, evidence-based instruction tailored to each student's educational goals
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, general educators, and families
- Create engaging lesson plans and classroom activities that promote success for all learners
- Implement and track academic and behavioral interventions and accommodations
- Maintain and document accurate student records and progress towards IEP goals
