Position: Assertive Community Treatment Psychiatrist
Location: Langhorne, PA
Department: Assertive Community Treatment Psychiatrist
Assertive Community Treatment operates as an evidence-based model for treatment for individuals with schizophrenia and other serious and persistent mental health disorders. We operate as a "hospital without walls", with the ability to bring needed mental health care directly to the patient's doorstep. Assertive Community Treatment is designed to assist individuals who have traditionally struggled with engaging and maintaining outpatient levels of care but still can thrive in the community.
Duties:

Provide 32 hours per week of psychiatric evaluation and treatment of individuals out in the community to no more than 100 patients.

Provide at least monthly assessment of symptoms and response to medications as well as monitoring of non-psychiatric medical conditions and medications.

Attend Morning Meeting Grand Rounds to discuss clients progress and needs.

Provide psychiatric expertise to a multi-disciplinary team which includes therapists, employment specialist, case management, Integrated Dual Disorders treatment, certified peer support and a 3 FT RN nursing complement.

Work collaboratively with other PMHC Staff that includes a multi-disciplinary team of highly qualified professionals.

Direct the operation of the medication and medical services by actively collaborating with the registered nurses on the team.

Physical Requirements:
This position normally requires the physical demands of standing, walking, bending, lifting, sitting on the floor or performing other work requiring low physical exertion, ability to move quickly in a crisis situation, talking and hearing on a regular basis to perform the job requirements. These physical demands are required up to 80% of the time. Position also requires ability to drive with adequate vision and skill.
