Technical Architects have deep specialization in Web Performance. You will engage with the most important merchants on the platform providing sound direction, proof of concepts, and/or advice on how to speed up stores. Working directly with new and existing merchants, Technical Architects provide in-depth expertise in both long term projects and shorter term engagements. You will identify larger opportunities for performance gains and work with engineering to implement on the platform making an impact for merchants everywhere.

Key Responsibilities
Support our global merchant base by speeding up their stores as part of paid engagements
Contribute to the ongoing success of the WebPerf professional service practice through improving processes and tooling
Provide merchants with best practice advice and direction based on your expertise
Scale learnings from engagements to make Shopify better for all merchants
Create thought leadership content to demonstrate expertise on https://performance.shopify.com/
Manage stakeholder expectations throughout engagements
Provide ad-hoc technical and product feedback to various internal teams
Engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales.
Qualifications
Experience of improving front end performance on large websites
Ability to debug complex INP issues
Expert level of experience in performance debugging using DevTools, Synthetic and RUM solutions
Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with Enterprise merchants
Comfortable navigating and using GitHub
Comfortable sharing their knowledge through speaking engagements and writing blogs
Enjoy investigating and solving complex performance issues
