The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial refrigeration/HVAC-R background along with working knowledge of commercial ice machines and water filtration systems.
You should be equally comfortable:
Troubleshooting a refrigeration problem alongside a technician
Reviewing service documentation and technical findings

The Service Manager is expected to understand the equipment, know the work, support technicians in the field, and lead from the front.
Lead, coach, train, and hold field technicians accountable for performance.
Develop HVAC/R and Preventive Maintenance Technicians within the Atlanta market.
Conduct field coaching and quality-control inspections.
Help newer technicians improve their troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Identify training needs and coordinate technical development.
Establish clear performance expectations and follow up on results.
Build a culture of accountability, preparation, communication, and continuous improvement.
Serve as a technical resource for commercial ice machines, refrigeration systems, and water filtration equipment.
Assist technicians with advanced refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and water-related diagnostics.
Help diagnose repeat or difficult service problems.
Review technical findings before unnecessary parts are replaced.
Support proper refrigeration practices, including system diagnostics, evacuation, charging, leak detection, and component replacement.
Understand how water quality, scale, sediment, filtration, and treatment affect commercial ice machine reliability and performance.
Oversee daily field service activity throughout the Atlanta market.
Monitor open service calls and ensure work orders move efficiently toward completion.
Help organize technician schedules, routes, and workloads.
Improve response times and reduce unnecessary return trips.
Support emergency service needs and technician on-call rotations.
Ensure technicians communicate delays, additional repairs, and customer concerns promptly.
Work closely with administration, dispatch, and senior leadership.
Ensure preventive maintenance programs are completed according to established company standards.
Maintain high standards for ice machine cleaning, sanitization, and equipment condition.
Ensure water filters are properly selected, installed, documented, and replaced.
Identify scale, water-quality, capacity, pressure, and filtration issues that may contribute to equipment failure.
Help technicians identify opportunities to prevent equipment failures rather than simply respond to them.
Review preventive maintenance documentation, photographs, equipment condition, and recommended repairs.
Build strong relationships with commercial customers.
Professionally handle escalated customer concerns.
Communicate technical issues in language customers can understand.
Help customers make informed repair, replacement, filtration, and preventive-maintenance decisions.
Protect long-term customer relationships while balancing service quality and company profitability.
Review technician notes, photographs, checklists, and service documentation.
Ensure service reports accurately explain what was found, what was completed, and what remains to be addressed.
Maintain high standards for workmanship, cleanliness, and professionalism.
Monitor callbacks and repeat failures and identify opportunities for improvement.
Promote safe driving, professional appearance, and proper care of company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Help manage local parts, filters, tools, and technician truck inventory.
Maintain appropriate stocking levels.
Reduce unnecessary parts purchases and inventory loss.
Ensure technicians have the proper tools and commonly needed parts to complete work efficiently.

Experience servicing equipment from major commercial ice machine, refrigeration, and water filtration manufacturers is a strong advantage.
Strong commercial refrigeration/HVAC-R background
Previous hands-on troubleshooting and repair experience
Working knowledge of commercial ice machines
Working knowledge of commercial water filtration systems
Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting ability
EPA certification
Valid driver's license
Acceptable driving record
Ability to pass required background and MVR screening
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to effectively use mobile technology and digital service-management systems
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to safely climb ladders and work at elevated heights, including rooftops
Ability to participate in an on-call rotation when needed
5+ years of commercial refrigeration/HVAC-R experience
2+ years in a Lead Technician, Supervisor, Service Manager, or similar leadership position
Commercial ice machine manufacturer training
Water filtration or water-treatment training
Experience managing multiple field technicians
Experience managing service routes, inventory, callbacks, and service KPIs

Base Salary: $60,000+ per year, based on experience
Plus Performance-Based Bonus Opportunity
Candidates with significant commercial ice machine, refrigeration, water filtration, and field-management experience may be considered for higher compensation based on experience and qualifications.
