Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for animal care and welfare, providing a safe and nurturing environment for pets in our facility. This role involves hands-on interaction with animals, ensuring their health, comfort, and well-being while also assisting with various kennel operations.
Duties
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, and exercising.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and common areas to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to appropriate staff.
- Assist in administering medications.
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during grooming.
- Support pet owners with customer service inquiries regarding their pets’ care and well-being.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks related to animal care supplies or equipment.
Skills
- Experience in dog handling is preferred to ensure effective communication with animals.
- Proficiency in pet grooming techniques to maintain the appearance and hygiene of animals.
- Strong skills in animal care, including knowledge of pet behavior and health needs.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks related to kennel maintenance and animal care.
- Excellent customer service skills to interact positively with pet owners and team members.
