We are a well-established, high-end private optometric practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care with advanced diagnostic technology and a personalized patient experience. We are seeking an experienced Optometric Technician who is professional, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering clinical excellence.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a modern, fast-paced practice where quality of care, teamwork, and patient relationships come first.
What You’ll Do
- Perform comprehensive patient pre-testing and work-ups
- Obtain accurate patient histories and document chief complaints
- Conduct diagnostic testing including:
- OCT
- Optos retinal imaging
- Fundus photography
- Visual Fields (Humphrey)
- Corneal Topography
- Auto-refraction
- Lensometry
- Tonometry
- Prepare patients for examination and assist the doctor during patient care
- Educate patients regarding procedures, treatment plans, contact lenses, and eyewear recommendations
- Accurately document findings in our electronic health record (EHR/EMR)
- Maintain exam rooms and diagnostic equipment to the highest standards
- Help create a welcoming, luxury patient experience from start to finish
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience as an Optometric Technician, Ophthalmic Technician, or Pretest Technician
- Experience operating ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
- Strong understanding of ocular anatomy and common eye conditions
- Excellent computer and EHR/EMR skills
- Outstanding communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience in a private optometry or ophthalmology practice
- Contact lens experience
- Knowledge of insurance verification and referrals
- Spanish-speaking is a plus, but not required
