Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Captain to lead our water transportation operations with confidence and precision. As a vital leader on board, you will oversee vessel management, crew coordination, safety protocols, and navigation to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient water transit. Duties
- Command and navigate vessels safely across designated routes using advanced marine navigation systems and maritime piloting techniques
- Oversee vessel maintenance, ensuring all water transportation equipment is properly serviced, repaired, and compliant with industry standards
- Manage crew members effectively, providing leadership, training, and supervision to foster teamwork and high performance
- Ensure strict adherence to US Coast Guard (USCG) regulations and maritime safety procedures at all times
- Conduct rigging operations and manual handling tasks safely during loading, unloading, or vessel maneuvering activities
- Coordinate vessel operations with external agencies, ports, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth water transportation logistics
- Perform heavy lifting operations as needed using appropriate equipment while maintaining safety standards
Skills
- Extensive experience in the water transportation industry with a strong background in vessel handling and management
- Proven ability to manage teams as a ship supervisor, demonstrating leadership in crew communication and operational oversight
- Deep knowledge of maritime safety procedures, USCG regulations, and marine navigation systems
- Mechanical knowledge related to vessel maintenance and water transportation equipment upkeep
- Skilled in rigging techniques, manual handling, heavy lifting, and managing complex vessel maneuvers
- Excellent communication skills for effective maritime crew coordination and stakeholder engagement
- Strong understanding of water transportation equipment maintenance practices and vessel management strategies
