School Water Filter Program — Lead Technician
One Green Filter LLC · Clearwater, FL · field work across Hillsborough County schools Full-time · $45,000 – $60,000/year (weekly base plus per-filter pay) · Paid every Friday
We replace the water filters in public schools. That's the whole job, and it matters more than it sounds like it does. A filter that gets marked done but never actually gets changed means a kid drinks from a fountain everyone believes is safe. So we do it right, we write down exactly what we did, and a district can pull our records any day of the week and find them clean.
We're looking for a Lead Technician to run our Hillsborough County schools.
The work
You'll be out at school sites most days, working through your list of fixtures — pull the old filter, put in the right new one, check the seal, flush the line, make sure the water runs, log it right there at the fixture, move on. Some days that's a handful of filters. Some days it's a lot. Summer is the heavy season, when districts want whole buildings changed out at once.
You'll sign in at the front office like everyone else, work around the school day without getting in its way, keep your area clean, and leave. Facility managers should be glad to see you show up. At the end of the week you'll reconcile your filter counts and keep your truck stocked so you never miss a site over a shortage.
Who does well here
Someone who works alone well and finishes what's in front of them without being chased. Someone who's honest on paper even when it costs them a dollar — if a fixture can't be done, you write down that it can't be done, and that's always the right answer here. Handy with tools. Comfortable and professional around kids and school staff.
Plumbing, facilities, maintenance, or route-service background helps, but we'll train the filter work.
What you'll need
A Level 2 background screening with fingerprints, which is required by Florida law for anyone working in schools. We'll walk you through it, but you can't start on site until it clears. You'll also need a valid driver's license and a clean enough record to go on our insurance.
The role is Monday through Friday, roughly 7:00 to 3:30, with up to nine hours of overtime a week and the occasional evening or weekend when a district only gives us access after hours. It's physical — reaching overhead, kneeling, ladders and step stools, walking big buildings all day, carrying cases of filters.
Pay
You get a guaranteed $805 a week no matter what, built on $15/hour plus overtime. On top of that, you earn $1 for every filter you replace and document correctly. It's added to the base, not instead of it, so a strong week is a bigger check. Company truck, tools, uniforms, and PPE are all provided.
Earnings depend on filters actually replaced and documented. This isn't a guarantee of any income level.
