Flexibility in work schedule a MUST.
Hours as set by Supervisor; changes in schedule will occur based on weekend rotation, AOC duties, department and/or business needs, etc.

Dress Code
GBH dress code for nursing and/or direct care staff: Nurses = NAVY BLUE scrubs; BHS/STNA = BURGANDY/WINE scrubs; Recreational Therapist = GREEN scrubs; Social Workers = PURPLE scrubs; Utilization Review & Intake = BLACK scrubs.
GBH dress code for all other staff is business casual, learning professional, and business casual does NOT include jeans.
JOB SUMMARY:
Possesses a combination of strong leadership skills, technical expertise and a deep understanding of healthcare regulations and standards. Responsible for the overall management and direction of nursing services, including but not limited to: assessment, implementation of treatment, and evaluation of quality clinical services for patients. This position has oversight of all clinical staff, a multi-disciplinary professional team. Develops hospital-wide systems, policies and procedures designed to meet the patient care need. Has overall responsibility and accountability for the development of staffing plans and development and implementation of departmental budgets. Responsible for planning for the appropriate utilization of resources, maintaining or improving the work environment, and monitoring and improving the quality and appropriateness of care. Works closely with Physicians to address patient care needs and enhance patient care systems. Promotes the facility through active involvement and participation in external and internal activities concerning health care services.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervises the following positions: Manages and directs clinical departments, which may include nursing and Staff Education/Development.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
REQUIRED:

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
-
Four (4) years of psychiatric nursing
-
Strong knowledge and understanding of nursing practices, healthcare regulations and regulatory compliance requirements
-
Previous experience in a geriatric and/or behavioral health setting
-
Previous experience with regulatory body surveys/inspections
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to lead and motivate a multi-disciplinary team
-
Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous quality improvement

Current BLS (CPR & AED), First Aid & CPI certification PREFERRED:
-
Master of Science in Nursing
-
Two (2) years in a leadership role or DON position, healthcare leadership a plus

Experience with budget management and financial planning.

Proven track record of improving patient care outcomes.

Experience in strategic planning and organizational development.
-
Demonstrated ability to implement new technologies and care methodologies, and pro-active leader in development and growth initiatives.
ADDITIONALQUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to consistently demonstrate a high level of reliability, accountability, and organizational understanding.
Working Conditions
Work occurs in a fast-paced psychiatric inpatient setting with patients who may display unpredictable or aggressive behaviors and must use de-escalation skills and follow safety protocols. The role requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, occasional lifting or assisting patients and the ability to respond quickly to emergencies while performing clinical tasks.
