Ascent Autism is seeking compassionate, dependable, and enthusiastic Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) and Behavior Technicians (BTs) to provide in-person services to individuals with autism throughout California’s South Bay and Central Coast, including Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties.
Ascent Autism helps individuals with autism strengthen communication, social skills, emotional regulation, independence, and meaningful connections with others. Our programs were developed by experts with backgrounds at UCSF and Stanford Medicine and are grounded in evidence-based approaches to autism care.
As an RBT/BT, you will work directly with clients and their families, implementing individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working directly with individuals with autism and wants to make a meaningful difference in their daily lives.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, one-on-one behavioral support to individuals with autism.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies under BCBA supervision.
- Help clients build communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, adaptive, and daily living skills.
- Collect accurate data on client progress, skill development, and behavior.
- Create a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate closely with BCBAs, caregivers, and other members of the clinical team.
- Communicate client progress, observations, and concerns to the supervising BCBA.
- Complete session notes and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Follow clinical, ethical, safety, and organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, training, and other required activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required. A degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Special Education, Child Development, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with individuals with autism, developmental disabilities, or children is required.
- Current RBT certification is preferred but not required for Behavior Technician candidates.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, compassionate, dependable, professional, and enthusiastic.
- Ability to follow treatment plans and implement evidence-based behavioral interventions with consistency.
- Ability to work collaboratively with BCBAs, caregivers, and other members of the treatment team.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to client homes and other service locations.
- Ability to provide in-person services within the South Bay and/or Central Coast region of California.

Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
