Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning equipment and chemicals.
- Handle custodial tasks such as trash removal, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces to uphold high hygiene standards.
- Operate floor buffers and other specialized cleaning machinery safely and effectively for floor care and buffing tasks.
- Follow safety protocols when handling chemical agents, ensuring proper storage, usage, and disposal in accordance with safety procedures.
- Assist with light maintenance duties such as minor repairs or reporting larger issues to facilities management.
- Use manual handling techniques for heavy lifting tasks while adhering to safe lifting practices to prevent injury.
- Maintain detailed records of cleaning activities and supplies used to support facilities maintenance documentation.
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with knowledge of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures.
- Skilled in handling chemical agents safely and understanding sanitation standards across various environments.
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment including floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and other custodial tools.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper manual handling techniques.
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to chemical handling, equipment operation, and general facilities maintenance.
