Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Equipment Operator/Laborer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various heavy machinery and supporting construction activities across diverse project sites. Your expertise will help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution. Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers in accordance with safety regulations and project specifications
- Perform routine maintenance and mechanical inspections on construction machinery to ensure optimal performance
- Assist with site preparation, grading, paving, and other construction tasks using appropriate machinery and tools
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or drilling activities
- Support horizontal drilling operations and water truck functions to facilitate various construction processes
- Follow federal construction safety regulations and company safety protocols at all times to maintain a safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate equipment usage and ensure smooth workflow on-site
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators (including Caterpillar models), loaders, dozers, graders, backhoes, water trucks, dump trucks, and tankers
- Strong mechanical knowledge for routine maintenance and troubleshooting of construction machinery
- Ability to perform utility locating accurately using specialized tools and techniques
- Valid commercial driver’s license with experience in commercial truck driving and safe transportation of materials
- Knowledge of federal construction safety regulations and general safety practices on construction sites
- Construction site experience with familiarity in paving, horizontal drilling, grading, and general excavation activities
- Skilled in the operation of specialized equipment like horizontal drills and water trucks for specific project needs
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and adhering to safety protocols
