About the Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead our shop floor operations, overseeing approximately 90 team members across 8 departments, including Sheet & Structural Processing, Fabrication, Finishing, Assembly, Shipping & Receiving, and Quality Control. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can keep production moving today while helping shape where we go next.
This is a leadership role for someone who can walk the floor, solve problems in real time, and still think strategically about production, people, and the P&L. You'll report directly to our Vice President of Operations and work closely with senior operations and sales leadership to keep production on schedule and our customers satisfied.
What You'll Do
- Direct daily shop floor operations spanning processing, fabrication, finishing, assembly, quality control, and shipping/receiving
- Own the production schedule and adjust priorities in real time as customer needs shift
- Lead, mentor, and develop department leads and production team members
- Monitor labor, materials, and machine utilization to drive efficiency and reduce waste
- Partner across engineering, purchasing, and sales to keep departments aligned
- Contribute directly to P&L performance through labor efficiency, scrap reduction, and process improvement
- Bring floor-level insight into leadership planning discussions
What You Bring
- 8+ years of production management experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication
- Comfort with sheet and structural processing, welding and fitting, assembly, and material flow (preferred)
- A track record of improving efficiency without sacrificing quality
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to lead people through change
- Experience reading technical drawings and working alongside engineering teams
- A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving
