Description
Our client is seeking a Drafter/Designer to join their Substation Design team.
The Drafter/Designer is responsible for using standard drafting practices and procedures, with a strong attention to detail, to assist with tasks related to a variety of engineering and construction projects. The Drafter/Designer will modify and create design plans and drawings using computer aided design (CAD) programs under the direction of a designer or engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and modify CAD drawings
- Apply Westwood Company CAD standard, practices, and procedures in creating and modifying CAD drawings
- Collaborate in a team environment
- Coordinate filing, storage, and retrieval of drawings and documents
- Work with extreme precision and accuracy in creating design drawings
- Plot and check drawings
- Willing to take on other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- 2+ years Drafting/CAD experience in Substation Design or relative experience
OR
- Associates in Drafting and Design, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology Degree
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience
- Possess basic mathematical skills and analytical abilities
- Attention to detail, self-motivated and a team player
- Working Knowledge in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat/Bluebeam
- Willingness to learn and grow is a must
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Drafting and Design or Engineering
- 3D Modeling experience (Revit, Civil 3D, Inventor, etc.)
- Good knowledge of the industry and technology trends specific to substations.
- Familiarity with the NEC and National Electrical Safety Code

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
