Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with check-in procedures using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Obtain and record vital signs, medical histories, and reason for visit to support accurate documentation.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies and assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and collection of specimens in accordance with safety protocols.
- Manage patient records meticulously, ensuring compliance with medical documentation standards and ICD coding requirements.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, follow-up visits, and patient intake processes to optimize clinic flow.
- Support administrative duties including answering phones, managing electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems), verifying insurance information, and handling patient inquiries professionally.
Requirements
- Prior experience in medical office settings or outpatient clinics is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dermatology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is a plus.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required to ensure patient safety during clinical procedures.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate documentation and record management.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, ICD coding, and medical records management.
- Experience with phlebotomy, medication administration, vital signs measurement, and inpatient or outpatient care environments is advantageous.
- Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately in fast-paced settings such as urgent care or trauma centers.
