Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Psychiatric to provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care in a behavioral health setting in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate will have at least two years of nursing experience, strong behavioral health skills, and the ability to work effectively with patients experiencing acute or chronic psychiatric needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in a psychiatric and behavioral health setting.
- Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and monitor patients' physical and behavioral conditions.
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to physician orders.
- Monitor patients for changes in behavior, mental status, and overall condition.
- Assist with crisis intervention and maintain a safe, therapeutic environment.
- Apply appropriate de-escalation techniques and behavioral management strategies.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, providers, social workers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, medications, and outcomes.
- Provide patient education and support to promote treatment participation and recovery.
- Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and behavioral health standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience – Required.
- Active Massachusetts RN License – Required.
- CPI Blue Card – Required.
- BLS Certification – Required.
- Previous psychiatric or behavioral health experience strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, assessment, crisis management, and patient-care skills.
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in challenging behavioral health situations.
Schedule Details
- Saturday: 6 hours
- Sunday: 6 hours
- Total: 12 hours per week
- Part-time position with a consistent weekend schedule.
