Duties: The Credentialing Office Specialist (COS) reports to the Tour Supervisor at JFK/LGA and to the Contractor designee at EWR. The IDOS assists Port Authority staff issuing Airport ID Cards to authorized JFK, LGA, and EWR employees.
COS duties include: verifying authenticity of identity documents; printing/creating Airport ID Cards only after Manager approval; following Port Authority ID Card processing/issuance procedures; reviewing security ID applications for proper documentation per Authorized Signatory guidelines; performing fingerprinting; operating computer equipment and specialized software; maintaining a current list of active SIDA trainers and assisting them as required; verifying SIDA certificates; assisting other contract trainers with SIDA course preparation/follow-up at JFK and EWR; handling administrative tasks as required; observing and reporting suspicious activity to PAPD; protecting assigned areas; enforcing Port Authority rules per Manager bulletins/manuals; staying familiar with Credentialing Office orders; instantly reporting breaches or fires to PAPD; maintaining an efficient post while assisting the public when it doesn't interfere with security duties; supervising compliance with Port Authority and federal ID rules for personnel/vehicles accessing the AOA; immediately reporting unauthorized access to PAPD; conducting periodic security/safety inspections by walking/driving the premises; reporting unclaimed/unattended property to PAPD; making full reports of unusual circumstances to supervisors; continuing normal and assigned duties during emergencies; conducting phone verification during application review; reporting hazardous conditions (ice, snow, fence damage, lighting outages, broken gates, alarms) to appropriate parties; assisting PAPD in rendering aid to persons in public areas until medical help arrives; responding to fires, explosions, bomb threats, floods, crowd control, and other emergencies; reporting vehicle/patron accidents to PAPD with handwritten reports as required; maintaining an activity log of unusual incidents; reporting 30 minutes before assigned tours and standing roll call if directed; performing other duties as required by the Manager; keeping each assigned post occupied at all times unless properly relieved or secured per Port Authority approval; and wearing a uniform at all times while on duty.
Requirements and Qualifications: Only Manager-approved, fully trained staff may serve as COS. All "Tours of Duty" requirements (SOW Section 8) apply. COS must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel via a passing score on a computer-based test administered by a vendor the Contractor recommends and the Port Authority approves. COS must have basic knowledge of computer applications and operating systems, may not use personal cell/wireless devices on post except as Manager-approved, may need relief personnel, must remain on post at all specified times, and must also meet all requirements for the Airport Security Agent position.
