Job title: Environmental Services Manager
Mentored by: Operations Manager Accountable to: Elders, Families, and Core Team
Position Summary:
Has the responsibility to manage all aspects of Environmental Services. Ensures all residents, visitors, and staff have a clean, pleasant, safe environment to live in. Creates, updates, and ensures compliance with departmental procedures and St. John’s Meadows/Brickstone policies/procedures.
Qualifications & Education Required:

High school diploma or equivalent
-
At least five years of experience in Environmental Services

At least two years of supervisory experience
-
Minimum of one year working with the elderly or similar environment
-
Able to interact with elders that have various needs and communication styles
-
Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to adjust schedules to meet the needs of residents and new move-ins

Requires tact and courtesy, ability to read, write, and speak English, and follow written and oral instructions in English

Basic computer knowledge

Position Responsibilities:
-
Lead and train ES team ensuring cleanliness of resident apartments, common spaces, guest suites, and turnover units

Schedule cleaning services for entire campus common areas and adjust as needed for special requests

Manage biohazard clean-ups as needed, supporting staff and maintaining dignity of affected individuals

Work with Operations Manager on major contracts, vendor changes, equipment changes and major purchases
-
Utilize Point Click Care scheduling system to schedule housekeepers for daily residential cleaning of resident units.

Communicate promptly and effectively with residents or staff about the need for a schedule change or added tasks
-
Attend weekly Management, Turnover, Operations meetings as well as any other staff meetings as identified

Conduct weekly or daily staff meetings as needed
-
Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, and onboarding process for new employees
-
Responsible for management-related tasks as required by Human Resources
-
Oversee daily event set-ups and break-downs of all campus activities
-
Collaborate with other managers to meet staff and resident needs for event set-ups
-
Manage all billable services through the Point Click Care platform and communicate with the Business Office
-
Oversee and participate in the development and tracking of the department budget; forecast funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies; implement budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary

Represent the Environmental Services department to other departments and outside agencies in alignment with St. John’s values.

Responsible for collaborating with volunteer services to oversee the daily tasks for the students of the Edison tech work-based learning program.
Physical Requirements:
-
Frequent lifting, pulling, bending, reaching of carts and furniture equipment (up to 75 pounds), occasionally squatting.

May be exposed to infectious diseases. Frequent use of Industrial Cleaning Fluids and aerosols
