CDL Driver – Senior Transportation Van

Position Summary
The CDL Driver is responsible for safely transporting senior citizens to supermarkets and essential errands only using the Foundation’s transportation van. This role requires a reliable, patient, and safety‑focused driver who demonstrates professionalism and compassion when working with older adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate the Foundation’s transportation van in accordance with all Florida CDL regulations.
- Transport seniors exclusively to supermarkets and essential errands (no medical appointments).
- Assist passengers entering and exiting the vehicle when needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe vehicle environment at all times.
- Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections; report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Follow assigned routes and schedules while maintaining punctuality.
- Communicate professionally with seniors, staff, and caregivers.
- Ensure all transportation activities comply with Foundation policies and liability standards.
- Maintain accurate daily mileage logs and trip documentation.
- Uphold confidentiality and respect for all passengers.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A or B (required).
- Clean driving record with no recent violations.
- Minimum 2 years of driving experience preferred.
- Experience working with seniors or vulnerable populations is a plus.
- Ability to lift to 25 lbs to assist passengers when needed.
- Strong communication skills and patience.
- Must pass a Level 2 background check.
- Knowledge of Miami‑Dade roads and traffic patterns preferred.
Compliance Requirements
- Must meet all Florida DHSMV CDL standards.
- Must complete Foundation transportation safety training.
- Must adhere to all insurance, liability, and operational policies.

This role involves daily interaction with seniors, requiring empathy, professionalism, and a commitment to providing safe, reliable transportation services.
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
