Position Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day execution of warehouse and logistics operations within the Purchasing & Logistics Team. This role directly handles inbound and outbound shipments, manages inventory accuracy, operates material handling equipment (including forklifts), and interfaces with the MES system to record all warehouse transactions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Inbound & Outbound Logistics
- Physically receive and verify incoming truck deliveries; unload, inspect, and stage materials.
- Process all inbound receipts and outbound shipments in the MES (Manufacturing Execution System).
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate documentation.
Internal Distribution & Delivery
- Fulfill material pull requests submitted by the Manufacturing/Production team.
- Pick, pack, and deliver materials to the production floor or designated areas in a timely manner.
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (MHE) to move materials safely and efficiently.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records through daily cycle counts and periodic physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies; report variances to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper labeling, storage, and organization of all warehouse stock.
- Identify and report slow-moving or obsolete inventory.
MES System
- Enter and verify all goods receipts, goods issues, and inventory adjustments in the MES.
- Ensure data integrity and timely transaction recording for all warehouse movements.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and warehouse standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in 5S activities and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment.
- Report any workplace hazards, incidents, or near-misses immediately.
QualificationsRequired
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Hands-on forklift operating experience.
- Minimum 1–2 years of warehouse, logistics, or distribution center experience.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical warehouse tasks throughout the shift.
- Basic computer skills (data entry, email, spreadsheets).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or automotive supply chain environment.
- Hands-on experience with MES, WMS, or ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
Working Conditions
- Full-time, on-site position — Franklin, KY.
- Work is performed in a warehouse/manufacturing environment; exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and moving equipment.
- Standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.
Pay: $23.00 - $24.00 per hour
