Partner / Unit Lead – General Liability | New Jersey
Kelley Kronenberg, a premier national law firm, is seeking an accomplished and entrepreneurial Partner-level Attorney to lead and grow a team within our New Jersey General Liability Practice. This is a rare opportunity for a high-performing litigator ready to take ownership of a practice unit, drive business growth, and build a team within a firm that provides the infrastructure and support to make that vision a reality.
As a Partner and Unit Lead, you will oversee and manage a General Liability caseload while contributing to Kronenberg's presence in the New Jersey market. This position is designed for a results-driven leader who combines strong litigation instincts with a strategic, entrepreneurial mindset.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a General Liability practice unit within the New Jersey Division, overseeing caseload distribution, team performance, and client service delivery.

Handle complex General Liability matters from inception through resolution, including depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.

Develop and execute case strategies while maintaining and growing a book of business.

Collaborate with the Chair of General Liability and other Unit Leads to align practice group goals with broader firm strategy.

Partner with the firm's in-house Business Development and Marketing team to service existing clients and pursue new business opportunities.

Foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture consistent with the firm's values.
Requirements:

Must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey and in good standing with the New Jersey Bar.

6+ years of experience in General Liability litigation, with demonstrated Partner-level responsibility.

Established or developing book of business with the drive to expand client relationships in the New Jersey market.

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage and mentor a growing team.

Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of high performance in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive Base Salary – $165,000 – $250,000, commensurate with experience and book of business.

Attorney must be driven, have an entrepreneurial spirit and be a high-performer. Attorney must enjoy acting as a mentor and fostering growth within their team while providing excellent client service.
1. Demonstrate exceptional legal research and writing skills.
2. Draft substantive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other necessary legal documents.
3. Conduct depositions and examinations under oath.
4. Negotiate on clients’ behalf at mediation and for settlement issues.
5. Independently evaluate and identify potential exposure and risks associated with cases.
6. Collaborate with litigation adjusters, administrative personnel, and claims personnel in order to obtain identified goals.
7. Fully and effectively utilize available technology.
8. Timely complete required litigation and administrative tasks including management of staff.
9. Travel throughout the state as required to meet business needs and marketing functions.
10. Ability to handle cases from inception through trial.
