Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and assist with seating arrangements to ensure a welcoming atmosphere
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Process sales transactions efficiently while handling cash, credit cards, and other forms of payment with precision
- Provide detailed menu descriptions, recommend specials, and upsell beverages or desserts to maximize sales opportunities
- Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and sanitation
- Ensure food safety and sanitation protocols are consistently followed during food handling and service
- Assist with bussing tables, refilling drinks, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the dining area to enhance guest satisfaction
Skills
- Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, including fine dining settings preferred
- Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, and OpenTable for efficient sales processing
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build guest relations and handle guest inquiries professionally
- Culinary experience or food preparation knowledge to better understand menu items and ingredients
- Ability to upsell beverages including spirits and wine confidently; cocktail experience is a plus
- Effective time management skills to handle multiple tables and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for processing transactions accurately and managing cash handling responsibilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper beverage service techniques
- Experience with wine knowledge, spirits handling, drink service, and food industry best practices enhances performance in this role
