Overview
Beginner's Mind Psychotherapy is a group therapy practice in San Mateo, CA looking to grow the team. We are looking for a part- time therapist, with the ability to work on one weekend day and Monday and Tuesday evenings. Pay incentive for weekend and evening hours. In this role you will maintain a caseload of 5+ clients. The ideal candidate for this role has experience and enthusiasm to work with teens, as well as adult clients. DBT experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions employing evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-informed therapy, behavioral therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Develop personalized treatment plans aligned with clinical documentation standards and HIPAA regulations, ensuring accurate medical records and documentation in EMR/EHR systems.
- Engage in case management activities, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate effectively with clients about their progress and treatment options.
- Utilize telehealth therapy platforms to deliver remote counseling sessions while maintaining high-quality patient care standards.
- Maintain compliance with clinical ethical guidelines, HIPAA regulations, and medical terminology standards throughout all patient interactions.
Experience
- Must hold CA BBS ASW or LCSW
- Proven experience working with children, adolescents, or adults in outpatient or inpatient settings within behavioral health or mental health counseling roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), trauma-focused therapy is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques, behavior management strategies, and social work principles applicable to diverse populations.
- Knowledge of ICD coding systems (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards is essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while adhering to clinical ethical guidelines and HIPAA compliance.
Pay: $75.00 - $110.00 per hour
