We invite you to join our team as a Recreational Gymnastics Coach, where your enthusiasm and expertise will inspire children and teens to develop their gymnastics skills while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a love for physical activity.
This position is perfect for energetic individuals who enjoy working with youth and have a passion for gymnastics. You will lead engaging classes during evening and Saturday hours, creating a positive, safe, and motivating environment for all participants. Your role is vital in helping young athletes achieve their personal best while ensuring safety and fun are always prioritized.
Duties
- Lead recreational gymnastics classes for children and teens, ensuring activities are safe, inclusive, and engaging
- Plan and execute age-appropriate training sessions that promote skill development, coordination, and confidence
- Monitor participants’ progress, providing constructive feedback and encouragement to foster growth
- Enforce safety protocols, including proper spotting techniques and adherence to equipment guidelines
- Maintain a clean, organized gym environment by inspecting equipment before and after use
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding participant progress or concerns
Skills
- Prior experience working with children is essential
- Strong knowledge of basic gymnastics techniques, safety standards, and spotting method is helpful, but we will train the right candidates who show positivity and encouragement to youth
- Experience in sports-specific training instruction such as cheerleading, gymnastics or dance, combined with babysitting/daycare experience can be subsituted for gymnastics coaching experience,
- No use of phones/sitting while coaching. We need you to be engaged with the class at all times
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members clearly and positively
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, are useful or we offer annual training
- Background check is required. If you have a fingerprint card already completed in the last year this will expedite the process.
- Background in teaching physical education or sports coaching experience across disciplines such as soccer, basketball, or cheerleading enhances your candidacy
- Ability to maintain a fun yet disciplined environment that encourages learning and enjoyment of gymnastics activities
Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
