Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. Duties
- Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Manage accounts payable processes, including invoice processing, accounts payable automation, and vendor payments using systems such as Workday, Paychex, or SAP.
- Oversee accounts receivable management, ensuring timely collections and accurate recording of customer transactions.
- Conduct detailed data entry and Excel data analysis utilizing formulas like VLOOKUP and advanced spreadsheet techniques to support financial reporting.
- Ensure adherence to SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and internal audit requirements for financial compliance.
- Support payroll management activities using HRIS platforms such as ADP or UltiPro, including benefits administration and payroll reconciliation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including general ledger reconciliation and preparation of financial statements aligned with GAAP standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial projects involving public accounting principles, governmental accounting standards, or non-profit accounting practices.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information while ensuring accuracy in all financial documentation.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Kronos, Ceridian, or similar platforms to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
Experience
- Proven accounting experience with a strong background in corporate accounting, public accounting or government sector finance.
- Extensive knowledge of double entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation techniques.
- Demonstrated proficiency in financial software applications including QuickBooks, Quicken, SAP, or equivalent systems.
- Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial compliance standards.
- Experience with payroll systems such as ADP or UltiPro along with benefits administration is highly desirable.
- Skilled in Excel data analysis using formulas like VLOOKUP and creating complex spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
- Familiarity with internal controls related to SOX compliance and experience supporting audit processes.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
- Excellent analysis skills combined with attention to detail in performing account reconciliations and journal entries.
