Job Summary
Pemberton Truck Lines, is a family owned and operated Company, based in Knoxville, TN, and we are managing the Academy Sports Distribution Center in Jeffersonville, GA.
We need 1 Full Time, multi skilled person that can be a Yard Spotter, Trailer Mechanic, Occasional Short Haul, CDL Driver, who would Work Monday - Friday Day Shift, but also be flexible to fill in if another spotter is out sick or on vacation.
Yard runs 24/7
This job does require good physical mobility to climb in and out of the truck and Trailers many times a day, as well as raise and lower the landing gear, and deal with Sea Containers.
- You must have reliable transportation.
- CDL. (Must have backing skills)
- Trailer Maintenance Experience. Tires, Brakes, Airlines, Electrical and Body Work
- Clean Criminal record.
- Strong Work Ethic.
- Work well with others.
- Flexible.
- This is a small group, so everyone must work well together.

Duties
- Safely maneuver Trailers within the yard, Backing into Doors and Parking Spots in a Timely and Safe Manner.
- Spot trailers for loading, unloading, or staging, ensuring proper placement to optimize yard flow.
- Replace trailer tires, brakes and other light trailer repair.
- Conduct routine inspections of trailers for damage or safety issues before moving them into a door or when pulled out of the door.
- Support safety protocols by monitoring yard activity, adhering to safety guidelines related to commercial driving and equipment operation.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving environments with a focus on backing trailers and moving them safely around the yard.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with other drivers, warehouse personnel, and management.
